Another Historic Event In Anambra: American Man Traces Ancestry To Igboland, Set To Marry Umueri Princess

African-American Man Akachukwu Okeke (original name Lawrence Marqueze Patterson) will today pay the bride price on the head of Anwulika Udanoh.

But why is this historic? Well…Akachukwu is an African American and a proud son of Igboland. This sensitive brother looked back through 400 years of impenetrable darkness, through thousands of frozen bodies in the Middle Passage, through horrors of subhuman existence; to Igboland to find a wife in Umueri, Anambra State. So, if this is not historic, tell me what is?
To me, nothing in living memory drives home the full meaning of this wedding as the 1980 meeting between Chinua Achebe and James Baldwin, one of the greatest African American novelists. The two writers had admired each other from a distance for a long time until they finally met at a conference held by the African Literature Association in Florida. Breaking the momentary silence, Baldwin had remarked; “It’s very important that we should meet each other, finally, if I must say so, after something like 400 years.”

I am personally awed that after over 400 years of separation, we are not merely meeting our brothers and sisters wrenched away from us by greed and human failing, but falling in love with them and wedding them under African skies. Not in America!

The most fascinating thing about this scenario is not just that Akachukwu has traced his ancestors and is about to marry an Igbo princess. Many African Americans have established their Igbo roots. It is that, to my mind, Akachukwu is actually more Igbo than most of us. Indeed, since he discovered his roots, Akachukwu has been a resilient Igbo voice on social media; blessing us all with the rich treasures of his research efforts on Igbo history, culture and worldview. Many people have met themselves anew in the research mirror held aloft in Akachukwu’s sturdy hands. And like many true Igbo, he feels things deeply. He is touched by injustice, oppression and the human condition. He is an ancient Igbo soul; washed clean by the waters of the Atlantic and untouched by the inhumanity of slavery!
That was why, a few years ago, my story on the pathetic existence of abandoned Biafran veterans in a camp in Oji River, touched a raw nerve in him. Being an ex-service man himself, he could relate with the fears of abandonment and the precarious future that plague many war veterans. He quickly mobilized online efforts that led to a symbolic gesture by conscious Igbo youths to say “we care about you” to the ex-servicemen in a memorable way.

In addition, a robust online presence and strong identification with his roots have endeared Akachukwu to many Igbo people and earned him the unsolicited friendship of many youths. He commands a large online following with many Facebook denizens waiting for his posts to lighten their day. Even as a US soldier in Afghanistan; unsure of seeing the next day, Akachukwu kept our timelines buzzing with posts that made life seem like a dazzling sunrise we should all step into.

Quite predictably, he met Anwulika, a zestful and brilliant lady from the famous Udanoh family in Umueri, Anambra State online. Anwulika is the author of ‘Royal Kiss’ a romance drama and a fierce social media habitue whose posts are among the most anticipated in Nigeria’s online community.

And today, anyi ga eje Umueri je mee ego na isi Anwuli!

So, if you are in Anambra State and you are passionate about ife gbasalu Ndigbo, drop by at the Udanoh family house in Umueri let’s give Akachukwu and Anwulika the honour they deserve.

FG warns Nigerians about IGVM ransomware, money extorting crypto-virus

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has warned Nigerians to be wary of IGVM, a file-encrypting Ransomware infection.

The IGVM, according to the agency, restricts access to data (documents, images, videos) by encrypting files with the “igvm” extension.

The warning was contained in a statement signed by Mrs Hadiza Umar, Head, Corporate Affairs and External Relations of NITDA and made available to reporters in Abuja on Saturday.

NITDA explained that IGVM attempts to extort money from victims by requesting for “ransom”, in the form of Bitcoin cryptocurrency in exchange for access to data.

This crypto-virus, according to the agency, spread in different methods like web injectors, pirated software, spam emails, malicious software bundles, fake software updates, and deceiving online ads.

NITDA explains that the primary task of the crypto-virus is to check the users computer system for target file formats and encrypt them using a private RSA key.

The agency further explained that once virus locks the files, it then runs several commands via CMD.exe to delete Volume Shadow Copies from the system.

The virus can also stop the victims from restoring their file copies for free, using Windows tools and can also modify Windows HOSTS file by adding a list of domains to it.

According to NITDA, these domains are mostly computer or IT-related websites, so the attackers capitalize on this measure to prevent the victim from seeking help or information online.

The agency hereby urged the general public to follow these recommendations:

“Ensure regular data backup and recovery plan for all critical information.

“Use application whitelisting to help prevent malicious software and unapproved programs from running.

“Keep operating system and software up-to-date with the latest patches.

“Maintain up-to-date anti-virus software, and scan all software downloaded from the internet beforeinstalling.

“Do not follow unsolicited web links in emails. Do not download or open suspicious email attachments.

“Do not open emails from suspicious recipients.

“Furthermore, if paying up seems like the only reason to get your files back, we strongly advise against ransom payments.

NITDA added that various cybersecurity experts do not recommend paying up due to the following reasons:

“The criminals might stop responding as soon as you transfer money to their virtual wallet address.

“The so-called decryption tool can be faulty or fail to work due to data modification on your end avoiding funding this illegal business model. The fact that ransomware operators collect millions in ransoms each year simply encourages people to join this cybercrime industry.”

China had recently warned financial institutions against offering cryptocurrency services.

China’s National Internet Finance Association, China Banking Association, and the Payment and Clearing Association of China, in a joint statement announced the ban, declaring that crypto has no real value and that the price can be manipulated.

Before China’s decision, Microsoft founder, Bill Gates had said he has not invested.

The billionaire listed other areas he put money into, but added that he had no problem with those who make their money via digital currency.

On claims that bitcoin production could be damaging to the environment, Gates said he was not totally convinced that was the case.

BURATAI HAS BEEN EXPOSED! ! See The Real Reason Why Buratai Left Nigeria To Become An Ambassador In Benin Republic

Everyone is corrupt in certain way but their some people who' s life is full of corruption and everything they have achieved in their life is due to how they manipulate the Government and the lies which they told to get to the position which they currently occupy. Many people have been accused of corruption but in Nigeria, there are different levels of corruption because some people have committed more crimes than other people.
While some people may have been jailed after their secret were exposed, some people continue to live free and happy because their secretes have not been exposed yet and the people who knows about their secret are doing their best to keep the secret safe due to what may happen if the people eventually finds out about them. Also, in Nigeria, immunity has made some people to escape being investigated by the appropriate authority.
However, a newspaper who seem to be very interested in what is going on in the public affairs have launched an Investigation into the activies of the former chief of army staff, General Tukur Buratai who retired some months ago. The army could not account for the money and they believe that the army chief would be invited by the National Assembly in other for him to explain how he spent the money but the army Chief, Tukur Buratai Immediately lobbied for ambassadorial position. He used his connection to get the ambassadorial deal and left Nigeria in other not to be investigated or queried by the nation assembly over what the 1$ Billion Naira arms fund was used for.

APC boils as Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, Gbajabiamila, Odunmbaku, Faleke, sponsor candidates for Lagos LG primaries

The internal rivalries over the sponsorship of aspirants for the primaries of the All Progressives

Congress (APC) to nominate candidates for the local government election has continued to heat up the party in Lagos State.

Notable APC leaders in Lagos State who include the APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Cardinal James Odunmbaku, popularly called Baba Eto, James Faleke, a member of the House; and others have been entangled in overt and covert political conflagration to ensure victory for the aspirant each is sponsoring for either the chairmanship or chancellorship ticket at the APC primary election scheduled for Saturday, May 29 in the build up to the July 24 local government election in the state.

The party leaders are mainly members of the Lagos State APC Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), the highest decision-making structure of the state party.

Some emerging leaders in the state APC are challenging certain godfathers who are bent on imposing certain candidates or creating a dynasty out of the APC built around their families. Those APC leaders imposing their sons or family members are getting good fight from some of the emerging leaders. This has been a major cause of deepening friction in the Lagos State APC.

Moreover, some desperate aspirants are marketing themselves or being marketed by their principals with the name of the APC national leader, Tinubu, who had earlier declared that he has not anointed any candidate. The battle has been more fierce between emerging godfathers than between the aspirants for the APC tickets in the 20 local governments and 37 LCDAs.

In Ifako/Ijaye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Usman Akambi Hamzat, younger brother of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Babafemi Hamzat, is who is currently the vice chairman of the LCDA, is widely perceived to be enjoying the support of Alausa, the Government House, for the chairmanship race. However, he has a female aspirant, Engr. Wuraola Atinuke Agbaje-Owolabi, among others, to contend with. Wuraola is also gaining wide populist support as APC members in the LCDA are showing determination to elect the first female Chairman in the LCDA.

Ifako/Ijaye LCDA is one of the councils APC members are agitating the emerging dynasty built out of the party; in this case the deputy governor sponsoring his brother towards turning Lagos State government into family enterprise.

Ojodu LCDA is another zone of political warfare over the emerging dynasty in the state party.

A former deputy governorship candidate in Kogi State, and lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, in the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, James Abiodun Faleke, is vehemently challenging Cardinal James Odunmbaku – Baba Eto – in

Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) for imposing his son, David Odunmbaku, for the chairman of the LCDA. Odunmbaku’s son is currently the incumbent Council Secretary of the Ojodu LCDA.

Faleke, a former Chairman of Ojodu LCDA for two tenures, in the power tussle, is sponsoring a female chairmanship aspirant, Alhaja Funmi Layeni.

Faleke was said to have declared that “they cannot serve the father and also serve the son”, in the party in Ojodu LCDA.

Odunmbaku had insisted that having sponsored other people in elections in Lagos State, the time has come for him to sponsor his son.

The APC leader in Lagos State and member of the GAC, was cited to have declared: “I chose my son at the very last. You know I have been sponsoring other people with all my strength, politically and financially with the permission and blessing of Asiwaju Tinubu, putting people in respective positions in politics, ministries, local government administration, but I decided to sponsor my child in the final analysis, and not without the blessing of Asiwaju.”

Faleke was identified as one of the people that benefited from Odunmbaku’s election sponsorship.

Furthermore, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, APC leader in Lagos Central Senatorial District, a member of the GAC, is also facing the political heat in Lagos Island Local Government Area over the imposition of his son, Adetoyese Olusi, an incumbent chairman, for a second tenure.

The emerging Olusi dynasty, like others in Ojodu and Ifako/Ijaye LCDA, is receiving sufficient resistance and opposition.

another aspirant for the chairman, Prince Taorid Adewale Ojora, is giving the emerging Olusi political dynasty a good fight for the APC ticket in Lagos Island LG. Adewale Ojora, according to party sources, is developing rising populism profile in the local government. he was said to have turned down overtures from APC leaders to step down for Olusi’s son, insisting on contesting the party’s primaries.

Two aspirants, Incumbent Vice Chairman, Suleiman Yusuf, and Idris Aregbe, current APC Youth Organising Secretary in Lagos, are deploying their political arsenal to secure the party ticket for the chairmanship election in Surulere Local Government.

Party revealed that Idris Aregbe is being supported by the APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. On the other divide, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, and other party leaders in the local government were identified to be supporting Yusuf.

There was innuendo that Speaker Gbajabiamila is intending to be Governor of Lagos State in 2023.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was also said to be supporting Aregbe in addition to the support from Tinubu for the APC ticket.

However, Speaker Gbajabiamila was said to be influencing political decisions in Surulere local government.

Several other party leaders in the state are not left out of the political inferno over the tussles for the APC tickets for the local government election.

meanwhile, some APC leaders were said to have last week held a closed-door meeting at Tinubu’s home in Lagos. The meeting was said to be attended by Tinubu, the convener; Gbajabiamila, Sanwo-Olu, as well as other APC leader in the GAC.

Tinubu had after the meeting on Sunday refuted reports that he has endorsed any candidate for the party primaries.

ODUDUWA REPUBLIC: Former Oodua Leader, Gani Adams Says Yorubas Ready To Die For Freedom From Nigeria

The Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba Land, Gani Adams, has stated that the people of South West are prepared to give up their lives in pursuit of their independence from Nigeria.

He equally lamented that the agitation was being hijacked by some top political leaders in the region.

Adams said the aim of the politicians was to derail them from the Original and true purpose of the struggle.

His words read: " It is unfortunate that some people are determined to weaken the spirit of the agitators. Unfolding events in the last few weeks have shown that some prominent politicians have hijacked the struggle for the actualisation of the O' odua Republic.
" It is an attempt to distract us from the true and original intention of the struggle.
" But I want to say it here that the struggle to seek a new nation is the legitimate rights that we are determined to live and die for and we wouldn' t waiver in our beliefs and determination to liberate our race. "

The agitation for Yoruba secession has continued to gain momentum since the onset of the killings in the country by the Fulani herdsmen.
Recall that the popular Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho, started championing the cause following the insecurity in Oyo state which prompted him to issue an eviction order to Fulani herders in the state.

Sunday Igboho has been leading protests and rallies in different parts of Yoruba land since then.

Sometimes, you seem to lack words to use when acknowledging someone’s appreciation.

Here are some other words you can substitute “you are welcome” with:

Anytime

Sure

It’s okay

Never mention

Glad to have helped

It’s all gray

Cool

Not at all

My pleasure

You got it

No worries

I’m happy to help

Happy to serve you

SHOCKING! IPOB To Lobby Biden With N300M To Get Biafra

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the supreme leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has taken a giant leap of faith on behalf of the entire Biafra Land by sealing a deal with a giant American firm to help the group win the support of the U. S. government against Nigeria.
Nnamdi signed the one- year deal which is expected to run for 12 months, valued at $750, 000, which according to the current exchange rate of N410 to one U. S. dollar, is over N300million.

According to PREMIUM TIMES, they are in possession of the paper which Mr Kanu signed with the BW Global Group (BWGG LLC, in February.
It is worthy of note that the firm is co- owned by Jeffrey Birrel and Alan White and is registered in Washington D. C, the U. S. capital. After their top level records of dealing with multilevel top government officials, lawmakers, policymakers, and opinion leaders, who IPOB has been dying to ' engage on the rightfulness and necessity of its cause for years, hence the mouth- watering deal. '
Other Dangerous Deals By Nnamdi Kanu

Before this $750, 000 deal which took effect from March 1, 2021, was another one which came months after an earlier deal was struck by Nnamdi with another U. S. - based lobbying entity, Mercury Public Affairs LLC, had expired.

It will interest you to know that under the old contract, IPOB, through Nnamdi Kanu, paid the total sum of $85, 000 per month beginning September 23, 2019, this was in addition to a $5, 000 one- time compliance fee.
This implies that the supreme leader paid total of $1, 025, 000 for the 12- month contract, which is approximately N400million, based on the prevailing official exchange rate at the time (N380 to a dollar).

Effect Of This On Nigerian Government

Sometimes in June 2020, the Nigerian government got tips of the dealing of Nnamdi Kanu, frowned at the deal, which it claimed was aimed at discrediting Nigerian amongst the U. S. and Europe respectively.
According to PREMIUM TIMES, it admitted getting copies of the details of both the old and new deals from the contractors' registration statements and agreements filed at the Foreign Agents Registration Unit of the U. S Department of Justice
" The registration, mandatory under the U. S. Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938 and for " public disclosure" , entails filing documents, including completed predesigned forms marked Exhibits A and B, and the agreements stipulating the full details of the contract.

Failure to provide this information " is subject to the penalty and enforcement provisions established in Section 8 of the Act, " FARA says in one of the documents reviewed by this reporter. " Said PREMIUM TIMES.

How Will This Help The Actualization Of Biafra

The terms of the contract focuses on the U. S government to push Nnamdi Kanu' s ' quiet but broad efforts to win the support of the U. S. government, Congress, policymakers, and opinion leaders' for the indigenous people of Biafra.
Contrary to the rumours that Nnandi kanu is using IPOB to siphon money, The filings by BW Global Group (BWGG) shows otherwise. After the firm was engaged by Kanu to undertake " political activities" in the U. S. on behalf of IPOB. The activities include engaging the U. S. government, Congress and the Department of State, (the equivalent of Foreign Affairs Ministries in Nigeria and other countries) and engaging policymakers on behalf of IPOB.

A sensitive part of the registration statement marked Exhibit B, read; " The registrant (BWGG) expects to advocate on behalf of IPOB within the US Government (including the U. S. Congress and the U. S. Department of State) and otherwise engage policymakers and opinion leaders, "

Rita Eze, Another representative of IPOB and a co- owner of BWGG, Mr White, provided further details of what the job of the firm to IPOB entails.
" BWGG shall provide the IPOB with services relating to the promotion of human rights and democracy and shall otherwise act as an advocate for the indigenous people of Biafra, " the document read.

In addition, BWGG " may also undertake other similar services that might be referred to BWGG from the IPOB from time to time by mutual agreement. "

Nnamdi Kanu and the separatist campaign

" Mr Kanu, a British and Nigerian national, has a relatively strong footing in the U. K. His engaging lobbyists to win the support of the U. S. appear to be part of a broader move to win the buy- in of western powers in the separatist cause of IPOB. " PREMIUM TIMES
Recall Donald Trump, immediate past president of The United States of America, had promised to look into the subject of Biafra after his reelection bid which didn' t work out but can Biden' s government be lobbied?

BREAKING: Buhari Opens Up On Third Term Agenda

Onyxnews reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has spoken on the report circulating on social media that he is interested in running for a third term in 2023.
Recall that unknown gunmen have been attacking police stations and burning down offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC .
This has led to widespread rumours that certain political interests are keen on making sure that 2023 general elections don’t hold.

However on Thursday, President Buhari clarified that he is not interested in running for a third term in 2023.

The clarification was revealed by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity while reacting to rumours that the President wants an extension of his tenure.

Shehu disclosed that the burning of stations and offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) won’t stop the 2023 general elections. The Presidential spokesperson stated this on Tuesday during an interview on Arise TV.

He said, “It is very disturbing that INEC and police offices are being set ablaze in parts of the country by anarchists. I believe the law enforcement agents are sufficient enough to deal with them.

“Does anybody want to stop election in 2023? President Buhari is not interested in third term; he is not cut out for that. So, there will be election in 2023 and we will get there, God willing.”

INEC to create 2,673 centres as continuous voter registration resumes June 28

INEC says it is resuming the continuous voter registration to enable those who have attained 18 years and those who did not register previously to do so.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it planned to create 2,673 registration centres and deploy 5,346 officials for the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) scheduled to resume June 28.

INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed this at the commission’s emergency meeting with security agencies under the auspices of the Inter-agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES).

Mr Yakubu said INEC was preparing for the resumption of the nationwide CVR to enable Nigerians who have attained the age of 18 years and those who did not register previously to do so.

“Similarly, registered voters who wish to change their voting locations and those who wish to correct their names and other details on their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) can do so.

“We plan to create 2,673 registration centres and deploy 5,346 officials for the exercise along with expensive voter enrollment machines.

“ All these activities require security, thereby adding to the urgency and importance of this meeting,’’ Mr Yakubu said.

He said that since the conclusion of the 2019 general elections, INEC, working with the security agencies, had so far conducted four end-of-tenure governorship elections and 28 out of 32 bye-elections.

Mr Yakubu said that in the next nine months, two major elections would be conducted.

“The Anambra State Governorship election is scheduled to hold on 6th November 2021 to be followed by the end-of-tenure elections for 68 Area Council constituencies in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) holding on Feb. 12, 2022.

“These major elections will be followed by the Ekiti and Osun State Governorship elections ahead of the 2023 General Election which is just 632 days away,” he said.

He, however, extended INEC condolences to the inspector-general of police and other security agencies for the loss of their personnel on electoral duty, the most recent of which occurred during the Ekiti East State constituency bye-election on March 2, 2021.

“May God comfort their families as well as the families of voters who lost their lives during that election. The Commission has already indefinitely suspended the bye-election,’ Mr Yakubu said.

The ICCES meeting was attended by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno, who was also Co-Chair of ICCES, and the acting Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba.

Do you know about Queen Luwoo, the first and only female Ooni of Ife?

According to transcribed Oral tradition, Queen Luwoo was the 21st ruler of Ife — a pioneer way ahead of her time.

Though she was once the most paramount sovereign of Yoruba land, history has not been kind to her legacy.
Ilè-Ifẹ̀ is a town in Osun state seen as the cradle and ancestral home of the Yoruba people, making any presiding ruler, the Ọọ̀ni, is revered as a very powerful leader.

The Ooni is recognised by his subjects as their spiritual leader and Chief Custodian of traditions. The Ooni dynasties go back hundreds of years and it was perceived that men have always occupied the revered stool.
Because Nigerian ancient history was mostly passed down through oral tradition, transcribed lists of the previous Oonis differ and sometimes, contradict each other.

However, most accounts have stated that a female, Ooni Luwoo, was the 21st Ooni of Ife, the supreme traditional ruler of Ile Ife. She succeeded Ooni Giesi and was succeeded by Ooni Lumobi.
The legacy of Ooni Luwoo

In some accounts, she is referred to as Lúwo Gbàgìdá, a descendant of Otaataa from Owode compound, Okerewe. She was said to have been married to Chief Ọbalọran of Ilode and became the mother of Adekola Telu, the founder of Iwo town.
She was the first and only female to take the crown as Ooni after the demise of Ooni Giesi.

Ooni Luwoo was a beautiful woman who took great pride in her physical appearance and that of her surroundings. For this reason, she put the whole town of Ife hard at work at keeping the whole town clean and beautiful — both men and women.

She was also known to commission the unique Yoruba custom of construction of decorative pavements and open-air courtyards paved with pottery shreds. The streets of Ile-Ife were paved with quartz pebbles and broken pottery as punishment for anyone who committed an offence. The offenders were ordered to bake the clay, and afterwards use their bare hands to break it into pieces and then lay it on the floor for the queen to walk on.
She was so sophisticated and finicky that she refused to walk on the bare floor, and some of the hand-made clay tiles she walked on while she reigned are still available in parts of Ife and other parts of Yoruba land she visited while on the throne.

However, she was perceived as wicked and a terror to the Yoruba people and deemed "uncontrollable" and "high-handed" by the elders of the land.

After her reign ended, the council of Obas came together and vowed to never make a woman the Ooni of Ife again.

The reality TV star's dream to become a lawyer has been hit by a brick wall.

Kim Kardashian's road to becoming a lawyer may be longer as she has failed the 'baby bar' exams.
The mother of four made this known to her sisters during a new episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

"So, you guys, I did not pass the baby bar. If you do law school the way that I’m doing it, it is a four-year program instead of your typical three-year program. And after year one, you have to take the baby bar. This one, actually, is harder, I hear, than the actual bar," she told her sisters.
The sneak peek from the new episode then cut to attorney Jessica Jackson informing Kim during a video call that the reality TV star received a 474 out of 560 on the test.

“I spent six weeks straight, 10 to 12 hours a day, studying,” Kim said. “It was so important for me to take this, and to not pass gets your spirit down. It just makes you want to give up.”

Kim signed up in 2019 to study law, taking after her late dad and popular lawyer, Robert Kardashian.

She started off with a 4-year apprenticeship at a San Francisco-based law firm.

It is not clear if she'll continue as she revealed to her sisters in the new episode of KWTK that she might take a year off or just give up.

American comedy legend Dave Chappelle says he wants to act in Nollywood movies

Chappelle is in awe with how Nollywood filmmakers churn out movies with little resources.
American comedy legend Dave Chappelle has been watching Nollywood movies and wants to act in one of the movies in his next career move.
Chappelle said this during his appearance on the Joe Rogan Podcast when he was asked if he would consider acting again.

"I have this weird idea. I want to go to Africa and do some of these Nollywood movies," the comedy legend said.

"I've been watching them, and how people can solve problems with so little resources.

This is what these African directors are like. The movies look crazy but it's funny how crazy they look.

"What if there is a reputable American star to apply these tricks to?

"I come with this funny; you just give that look. Don't you worry, it's all going to work out.

"I want to do that, I want just to see what's popping over there. Africa is popping right now."

Asked if he has an idea of a script for the movie, Chappelle said he doesn't need one because it does it seem that these Nollywood movies are acted out with scripts.

"I don't know that I need one. You have to see one of these movies to see what I'm talking about," he said.

"It's like something about it makes me feel joyful when I watch it."

Chappelle has been a fan of the African culture and also has plans to perform in Africa.

The Senate commenced its zonal public hearings on constitutional amendments across the country on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, months after soliciting suggestions from the public.

While presenting its memo at the Lagos hearing on Wednesday, The Muslim Congress (TMC) said it wants Sharia implemented in the Yoruba-speaking south west to cater to its Muslim population.

"We want to partner for the creation of Sharia courts in the south west because of our population of Muslims," TMC representative, Abdulganiyu Bamidele, said.

devolution of power from the Federal Government to the State and Local Governments.

Some also proposed that the 1999 constitution be completely scrapped and replaced with a new citizens-led constitution.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu (Lagos Central - APC), who chaired the public hearing, said the Senate will take all the public submissions into consideration to create the perfect document to address everyone's concerns.

100 persons killed in fresh attack on Benue villages

MAKURDI – At least 100 people have been killed in four council wards of Kastina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State at the weekend after gunmen unleashed terror on communities.

Daily Trust gathered that over 100 dead bodies have been recovered from many villages in the four council wards where the gunmen attacked simultaneously between Saturday and Sunday.

A spokesman of the Kastina-Ala council chairman, Tertsea Benga, alleged that the gunmen stormed several communities in the Mbayongo council ward in Katsina-Ala LGA about noon on Saturday and burnt down houses.

He listed the initially affected villages to include Vingir, Tse Nyipila and Tse Guji all in Mbayongo ward, adding that the attackers proceeded to Kenvanger in Mbatyula council ward on Sunday afternoon.

Most of the corpses were recovered from the bush.

Benga further recalled that half of the communities in one of the affected locality, Yooyo council ward in the same Katsina Ala LGA, had earlier been sacked by the alleged armed invaders who killed many people then and in the latest invasion.

Confirming the incident, the Chairman of Kastina-Ala LGA, Alfred Atera, said that over 100 people have been killed within the weekend in the four council wards of Mbayongo, Yooyo, Utange and Mbatyula/Mberev in a coordinated attack.

Atera blamed the attack on the collaboration between suspected armed herders and ‘Gana boys’ [loyalists of the slain Benue’s wanted criminal kingpin, Terwase Akwaza, popularly known as ‘Gana’], adding that security personnel, though doing their best, were however overwhelmed.

“More than 100 people have been killed in different places.

“They [attackers] are killing and dropping as they are going on their way. Some people were able to claim the corpses for burial.

“I told the military that the attackers have developed a strategy; they are not attacking one place.

“If they attack a place now, the next thing you hear is that they are in Yooyo and at the same time they are attacking Utange, so the military is going here and there.

“There is no military connivance, but I’m suspecting the existence of bandits here and I think they are trying to win cheap popularity,” Atera said.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Benue Command, DSP Catherine Anene, has not responded to calls or text messages as of the time of filing this report.

SUSPICION As American Based Nigerian Nurse Gives Out N123 Million As Bail Bond For The Release Of Suspected Nigerian Yahoo Boy

Mixed reactions have to continue to trail the proposed release of the suspected Nigerian Yahoo Boy that was arrested earlier this week as a result of a bail bond submitted by a Nigerian nurse based in America.
The nurse whose name is given as Nakpen Soyemi is a Benin lady who is married to a Yoruba guy, Idris Soyemi. According to the Court document for the bail bond, she is a registered nurse based in America. She met all the requirements set for the bail of Rufai Abidemi, the suspected Yahoo boy she is standing surety for.
However, there are some reservations about how she came about the huge amount of money. The bail bond is set at $300, 000, which is about 123 Million Naira. That amount of money is believed to be too much for a mere nurse to have. The FBI Prosecutor also thinks the same. They told the court to defer the suspect released on bail pending the time they will run background checks on Mrs. Nakpen Soyemi, to ascertain the true source of her money. Although some reports said she claimed her father left her the money. That is yet to be verified by the FBI.
Meanwhile, Alaba Rufai, the suspect' s blood brother who is also in America, had earlier backed out from the bail bond plan. He reportedly told their attorney that he will stand surety for his brother pending his trial. But when he was told that he will have to deposit $300, 000 (123 Million Naira), he humbly declines to be the surety. He said he does not have that amount of money.Meanwhile, Ramon Reyes, the Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of New York in charge of the case, has ordered that the suspect should remain detained pending FBI investigation on the bail bond application.
