If GEJ doesn’t accept our form, we won’t let him out of Nigeria- Fulani group

Usman Mohammed, secretary of a Fulani group that said they purchased N100m APC presidential forms for Goodluck Jonathan, has vowed not to allow the former president to leave the country if he doesn’t accept the forms.
Recall that the Fulani group had disclosed that it bought the ruling party’s forms for Jonathan on Monday.

However, in a swift response through a statement by his spokesperson, Ikechukwu Eze, Jonathan said he didn’t authorize the purchase and has no interest in running for president in 2023.

But the group which is an extraction of the nomadic Fulani and the Almajiri communities, through its secretary stated that if the ex-president turns down the nomination form as he threatened, they will be left with no option but to force him to accept it.

“I believe you are aware of how we blocked his office in the FCT during our rallies in Kano, Suleja, Minna, and Abuja, and forced him to come out to address journalists. It is the same approach, Mohammed told Punch.

“If he doesn’t accept our form, we won’t let him out of Nigeria,” he said.

According to him, the Fulani pastoralists opted for the choice of Jonathan out of the almost 30 APC presidential candidates because of his patriotism and love for Nigeria.

Mohammed explained that his people were compelled to sell their livestock to raise money for the nomination forms because of the development he brought into the Fulani and Almajiri schools.

“Jonathan is a Christian with a heart of Muslim. When he was president, he supported Almajiri schools, took care of our children, and fed them in many Northern States.

“The money for the nomination form was contributed by Fulani cattle rearers in the country. We saw some media reporting Miyetti Allah or Northern Youths. That’s not true.

“Besides, he is the most experienced of all the APC presidential candidates. None of the other candidates has ever been president of the country, including Tinubu.

“He is a man who loves Nigerians and loves other people’s children more than his own. We need him to continue with his Almajiri school project, especially in Kano where we have over three million of these students. None of them bought uniforms with their money,” he said

ASUU: Shut Down Everything With Mass Action

A presidential aspirant Omoyele Sowore has called on Nigerian students to hold massive protests following the decision of the Academic Staff Union of Universities to embark on another 12 week extended strike.

Recall that we reported that ASUU announced on Monday that its ongoing strike had been extended by 12 weeks.

A statement signed by ASUU’s president, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, said the extension was to give the Federal Government enough time to satisfactorily resolve all the outstanding issues.

Reacting to the announcement on Monday, Sowore took to his Twitter page and urged public universities’ students to teach “inhuman” political rulers a “big lesson” by commencing a mass action.

“Nigerian youths/students must teach these inhuman political rulers playing Russian roulette with their future a BIG lesson.

“Let the organising start now, shut down everything with mass action, stop everything until our higher institutions are well funded #WeCantContinueLikeThis.

“They’re doing this because their kids don’t attend Nigerian universities! #Revolutionnow!,”he wrote.

Kidnapper Sentenced To Death By Hanging

A Kano High Court on Monday sentenced one Ibrahim Khalil,19, to death by hanging for kidnapping his five-year-old nephew, Ahmad Ado and causing his death.
Khalil, whose address was not provided was convicted on a two-count charge of kidnapping and culpable homicide for causing the death of his victim by celling his nose and mouth with a sellotape.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Usman Na’abba, held that the prosecution had proven his case beyond reasonable doubt and sentenced the convict to 14 years imprisonment for kidnapping.

Na’abba also sentenced him to death by hanging for homicide.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr Lamido Sorondinki, informed the court that the convict committed the offence sometime in 2019 at Karkasara Quarters, Kano.

“The defendant kidnapped his sister’s son, Ado and in the process used a sellotape to cover his nose and mouth resulting in suffocation leading to his death.

“He buried him in a shallow grave at Sabuwar Sheka Kano,” he said.

The prosecution presented three witnesses to the court and presented four exhibit to prove its case against the defendant.

The convict, however, denied committing the offence.

According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened section 274 and 221 (a) of the Penal Code.

Presidency Speaks On Buhari Extending His Tenure For Six Months After Expiration

The Presidency has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari has no intention to extend his tenure beyond the date allowed by the Nigerian constitution.
Naija News reports that this was made known in a statement on Tuesday night by presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu.

Recall that Chief Robert Clarke (SAN) had stated that Buhari can and should extend his tenure for another six months after his tenure expires on 29, May 2023, to tackle insecurity rocking the nation.

Reacting, Shehu said: “We wish to categorically restate that the President will step down on May 29th, 2023, after serving two terms – as per the constitution.

“Having been the first recipient of a democratic transfer of power from an incumbent administration to an opposition candidate in Nigerian history, the President is committed to extending and entrenching democratic values across the country. He shall, in turn, hand the privilege of serving the people of Nigeria to whomever they choose through free, fair and credible elections.

“However, Chief Clarke is right to say that without security, Nigeria would not likely realize its true potential as a peaceful and prosperous nation. That is why it has been at the core of this administration. The results are there for all to see. Boko Haram terrorists have been forced back from controlling whole swathes of this country. Internally Displaced Persons are now returning to rebuild their communities. This achievement has been accomplished through the bravery and determination of the Nigerian armed forces and the fortitude of the people of our nation.

“New challenges have arisen and tackled in turn – whether it’s the National Livestock Transformation Plan to alleviate herder-farmer clashes, the elimination of the leadership of ISWAP, or new efforts to combat banditry. Till the last day of the administration, the security of the citizens shall remain the administration’s paramount concern.”

He stated that Buhari is focused on finishing the job given to him by Nigerians, adding that the President will also respect the constitution.

“Yet there are others, such as Chief Afe Babalola, (SAN), that believe elections should be suspended, with the current elected government replaced by an interim unelected administration.

“This, he claims, is necessary to create a new constitution for the people, made possible, paradoxically, by ignoring their democratic rights. Down that path lies crisis and instability.

“Instead, this administration proposes something entirely simpler: honouring the constitution and people’s right to decide,” he said.

How 80-Year-Old Woman Walked Me Out Of Church For Pension Debt When I Was Governor– –  Peter Obi

A former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has narrated how an 80-year-old woman forced him to offset all outstanding pension and gratuity in the state before leaving office.

Obi was governor of Anambra State between 2007 to 2014 when the immediate past governor Willie Obiano succeeded him.

“Till the day I left office as governor, I owed nobody what is called gratuity. When I assumed office, they (Chris Ngige’s administration) were owing people N32bn,” he told Brekete Family, a popular Abuja radio programme on Wednesday.

In 2007, the state had an outstanding pension and gratuity of around N35bn.

By November 2013, Obi paid the sum of N30bn and cleared the rest in subsequent months before handing over in 2014.

“When I was governor, I went to church every Sunday morning. One day I was in the church and an 80-year-old woman asked me to leave the church. She told me to stop praying and leave,” Obi narrated.
Obi added, “The old woman, Mrs Ndibe, came and carried my bag asking me to leave. She told me that God will not answer my prayer until I pay her gratuity and pension.

“I followed the woman to her house and what she told me made me decide to clear the debts. So when I left, we did not owe gratuity, we did not owe pension. We did not owe salary and I want you to go and verify that. No contractor that did his work was owed. No supplier that did justice to his work was owed.”

In Nigeria, pension payment has become a major issue for state governments with many of them owing liabilities, according to the National Pensions Commission.

Obi said, “The Police are not the only ones surveying this. It is everywhere. When you see the pain people go through in serving their country, it is painful. We are supposed to be helping them enjoy it.

“The problem with pensions affects everybody. This thing needs to be reorganised. We need to do it better. Even the little amount, the pensioners are not paid. The country is supposed to have cleared its backlogs. These are people in their old age with less opportunity.”

Obi said leaders keep denying pensioners their rights and entitlements because of the mass ignorance among Nigerians.

He said, “If you cannot pay salaries, you can not pay gratuity, you go home. It is simple because you receive your salary. We need to change. You can’t be owing people and you go about with your family"

Gruesome murder of two soldiers is callous and despicable - Nigerian Army

The Nigerian army has reacted to the killing of two soldiers who have now been identified as Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Audu M Linus (retired) and Private(Pte) Gloria Matthew, in Imo state.

Nigerian army spokesperson, Onyema Nwachukwu confirmed that the couple had embarked on the trip to fulfill the traditional rites of conjugating their matrimony, but were killed while in transit.

He further revealed that Gloria Matthew "who hails from Nkwerre LGA of Imo state has an ethnic affiliation with the good people of South East Nigeria but that did not prevail on the sensibility of the dissidents."

Nwachukwu also said that this "dastardly act, one too many, clearly portends the deep seated hate, desperation and lawlessness with which foot soldiers of IPOB/ESN have being unleashing terror on Ndigbo, whom they claim they are on a mission to protect and emancipate".

The statement reads;

The Nigerian Army (NA), on Saturday 30 April 2022 received information on the gruesome, barbaric and most despicable manner in which members of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) and its armed affiliate, Eastern Security Network(ESN) murdered in cold blood, two soldiers Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Audu M Linus (retired) and Private(Pte)Gloria Matthew, who were on transit to Imo state for their traditional wedding. Apparently, the soldiers had embarked on the trip to fulfill the traditional rites of conjugating their matrimony, as the very well respected and cherished Igbo tradition demands.

Ironically, the fact that one of the soldiers, Pte Gloria Matthew who hails from Nkwerre LGA of Imo state, has an ethnic affiliation with the good people of South East Nigeria did not prevail on the sensibility of the dissidents.

This dastardly act, one too many, clearly portends the deep seated hate, desperation and lawlessness with which foot soldiers of IPOB/ESN have being unleashing terror on Ndigbo, whom they claim they are on a mission to protect and emancipate, as well as other innocent Nigerians who are resident or transiting the South East.

This gruesome murder, in which they did not spare even their own child, clearly depicts callousness, impenitence and is indisputably, a brazen act of terrorism perpetrated by IPOB/ESN.

Though the dissident groups have continued to live in denial, while masquerading as unknown gunmen in their criminal violent campaign in the region, the NA will ensure the perpetrators of this dastardly act unleashed on its personnel do not go unpunished. While we deeply condole with the families, relations and close associates of the victims, the NA has commenced investigation to unmask and bring the criminals to book.

Members of the public are please enjoined to oblige security agencies actionable information that will lead to the arrest of these criminals.

IPOB finally reveals those responsible for killing Military Couple in Imo [PHOTO]

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB has issued a statement on the beheading of a military couple in Imo state last week.

IPOB in a statement on Wednesday signed by its media spokesperson, Emma Powerful, disclosed that the group has no hand in the killing.

The statement read; “Our attention is drawn to the laughable and fallacious statement credited to the Nigeria Army that IPOB is responsible for the killing of a couple on transit in Imo State after their marriage ceremony.”

“We, therefore, wish to place on record that IPOB has no hands in the said atrocity which is an abominable act in Igbo tradition. No true Igbo will hurt an in-law, how much more a married daughter (Ada) in Igbo land. Even the ancestors will avenge such wickedness.”

“We cannot kill our sister who is about to marry but those who killed them were those Nigerian government and its security agencies, especially the military and DSS created to demonise IPOB and ESN.”

“These agents of death some of whom we have made their identities public severally are behind the killings of these soldiers, not IPOB or ESN operatives.”.

The safety of users’ funds is ensured because COTP exchange creates its own high-frequency trading matching engine.

With the block chain industry gradually becoming mature and its acceptance by mainstream institutions, the transformation of the traditional financial industry will be a common trend.

Based on the algorithm of high-frequency transaction, millions of transactions can be carried out every day, and all of which can be overturned by the rise of the exchange (COTP). Different from common exchanges in the market, COTP exchanges are distributed all over the world and they usually run by anonymous communities.

On August 30, 2020, users of Uniswap, the most popular exchange, traded encrypted currencies worth US $426 million in one day, which surpasses the mainstream encrypted currency exchange coin base.

Dariush, CTO of COTP, said: “if most transactions occur at the time of price discovery, then we need to have a more complex market making strategy.” Darius has been engaged in algorithm transaction business since 2006 and entered the encryption market in 2016.

According to Dariush, if a transaction robot can carry out its transactions faster than its competitors, profits can be created faster than the market. COTP can even run a node and act as an identifier,so that they can reorganize transactions in a block to ensure that their transactions can be carried out faster than others.

When carrying out transactions in the currency circle, especially when participating in contract projects, Caton and downtime will become two of biggest problems in the market. It is likely that downtime in a short period can lead people engaged in coin industry to break their positions directly and cause serious losses.

The research and development team of COTP exchange originates from all over the world and has rich experience in financial management and the development of block chain technology. The independently developed high-frequency transaction matching engine can carry a large number of concurrent transactions, which far exceeds most exchanges in the market. High frequency transactions is one of the biggest highlights of COTP exchange. The high-speed matching transaction pair can perfectly solve problems of jam and downtime in the operation of the exchange. It is the primary guarantee for COTP to ensure the smooth experience of coin friends and the safety of funds.

Hot and cold wallet technology ensures double protection of capital security

According to the cryptography community, the cryptography foundation of block chain (sha256 and EDSA) is absolutely secure under the current decryption technology capability. The main problem of digital currency security lies in the preservation of private key. Cold and hot double money package is adopted by the COTP exchange to ensure the security of user funds.

COTP exchange has three conspicuous advantages:

Safe and reliable

Developed by the world’s top technical team, it has a mature financial risk control system, complies with the encrypted currency security standard (CCSS), and multiple security mechanisms that can ensure asset security.

Professional

The self-developed high-frequency transaction matching engine can carry a large number of concurrent transactions, and the matching performance is up to 5 million transactions per second. The unique distributed architecture ensures the best user experience in the world!

Stable and reliable

The industry-leading and multi-level disaster recovery and high availability architecture, decentralized hosting and clearing technology, and super anti DDOS attack system can always ensure the safety of the platform!

Decentralization is the development trend of the exchange in the future, and COTP exchange is expanding the field of DeFi and will empower COTP again, making COTP more promising in the future!
