Twitter Blocks Users From Retweeting Trump’s Speech On Capitol Hill Siege

Social media giant, Twitter, has blocked users from sharing U.S. President Donald Trump’s national address to his supporters who clashed with police operatives at Capitol Hill on Wednesday.

Trump asked the protesters to “go home in peace” after the mob breached security to attack parts of the U.S. capitol hill.

Trump claimed that the November 3 2020 presidential election was rigged in favor of President-elect Joe Biden.

“We don’t want anybody hurt, it’s a very tough period of time…this is a fraudulent election and we can’t play into the hands of these people.

“So go home in peace,” he said.

But Twitter said the video violated its rules and blocked it from being shared.

Biden had also called out Trump for inciting his supporters, and urged the outgoing president to tell the protesters to end the siege.

Since the November 3, 2020 election was called for Biden, Twitter had flagged almost all of Trump’s claims of electoral malpractice.

Finally, the United States President, Donald Trump, has conceded defeat to President-elect Joe Biden.

Trump said he will handover smoothly to Biden on January 20, 2021.

He made this known in a statement on Thursday after the U.S. Congress certified Biden’s victory.

“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th.

“I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again,” CNN quoted Trump to have said in a statement.

FG To Borrow Dormant Account Balances And Unclaimed Dividends From Nigerians

Unclaimed dividends and bank account balances of Nigerians unclaimed for at least six years will be transferred to the Federal government.

This is according to the provisions in the Finance Act 2020 recently signed into law by President Buhari. The remitted funds will be available as special credit to the federal government through the Unclaimed Funds Trust Fund.

The Finance Act reads in part;

“Any unclaimed dividend of a public limited liability company quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange and any unutilised amounts in a dormant bank account maintained in or by a deposit money bank which has remained unclaimed or unutilised for a period of not less than six years from the date of declaring the dividend or domiciling the funds in a bank account shall be transferred immediately to the trust fund”

The act exempts official bank accounts owned by the federal government, state government or local governments or any of their ministries, departments or agencies.

According to the act, the monies transferred to the trust fund will be a “special debt owed by the federal government to shareholders and dormant bank account holders”. It also states that the original owners of the money can claim their money at any time.

The act stipulates that the operation of the trust fund will be supervised by the Debt Management Office (DMO) and governed by a governing council chaired by the finance minister and a co-chairperson from the private sector appointed by the president.

Other members of the governing council shall include the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), director-general of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), managing director of the National Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), a representative of the registrars of companies, two representatives of the shareholders’ association, a representative of the Bankers’ Committee and the director-general of the Debt Management Office as the secretary of the trust fund.

According to financial experts, this move will make needed funds available to the federal government without foreign exchange worries or conditions attached to loans from multilateral lenders.

Congressional leaders have called a sudden recess while convening to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s victory in his race against President Donald Trump, as right-wing pro-Trump rioters clashed with security officials and stormed the U.S. Capitol Building on Wednesday afternoon.

The surprise announcement came from Senator Chuck Grassley, who banged his gavel three times in the middle of another senator’s speech and said: “Senate will stand in recess subject to the call of the chair.”

A commotion then erupted on the Senate floor, with aides rushing to lawmakers who were quickly escorted out of sight. Some lawmakers were already sheltered in place in their offices across Capitol Hill, as rioters were seen attacking police and overtaking barricades behind the Capitol. Vice President Mike Pence, who was presiding over the procedures in a mostly symbolic role, was nowhere to be found.

Just steps away from the Senate chambers, rioters were confronting officers as they held confederate flags. Some of the pro-Trump rioters appeared to be attempting to break the windows of the Capitol building in videos posted to social media by users inside of the facilities.

The vice president was evacuated from the premise, according to the New York Times, while representatives tweeted about being locked in their offices and receiving instructions to silence their electronic devices.

Mob Storms US Capitol As Trump Is Accused Of ‘Coup’

Donald Trump’s supporters on Wednesday stormed a session of Congress held to certify Joe Biden’s win, as a desperate last-minute bid by the president to overturn his election loss sparked chaos and accusations of a “coup” attempt.

Hours after an extraordinary rally by Trump challenging his defeat, his flag-waving backers broke down barricades outside the Capitol and swarmed inside, with the special session going into an emergency recess as protesters entered the chambers.

The chaos at the Capitol, which was put under lockdown, came one day after Biden enjoyed a new triumph as his Democratic Party looked set to win two Senate runoff seats, handing full control of Congress.

Police fired tear gas as they struggled to remove a sea of protesters who took aim, at Trump’s urging, at what for more than two centuries had been a quiet, ceremonial session to confirm the election’s winner.

“The President of the United States is inciting a coup. We will not be intimidated. We will not be deterred,” tweeted Democratic Representative Karen Bass.

Representative Val Demings likewise denounced the storming of the Capitol as evidence of “a coup in progress” — in words echoed by half a dozen lawmakers.

Representative Elaine Luria said she had to evacuate because of a report of a pipe bomb and said she believed she heard gunshots.

“I don’t recognize our country today and the members of Congress who have supported this anarchy do not deserve to represent their fellow Americans,” she said.

– ‘Damage our republic forever’ –

Biden is certain to become president, with Democrats already controlling the House of Representatives, but more than 140 Republican House members and a dozen Republican senators have sided with Trump in challenging the results even though no evidence of fraud has been proven in court.

Republican Senate leader Senator Mitch McConnell, for four years a staunch backer of Trump, denounced the challenge in an impassioned address, noting that the results of the November 3 vote were not even close.

“The voters, the courts and the states have all spoken. If we overrule them, it will damage our republic forever,” said McConnell, who is set to lose his position of majority leader after Democrats’ Senate wins.

“If this election were overturned by mere allegations from the losing side, our democracy would enter a death spiral,” said McConnell, who also accused Democrats of not accepting Trump’s surprise 2016 victory.

Senator Chuck Schumer voiced alarm moments before protesters entered the Capitol, saying: “An element of the Republican Party believes their political viability hinges on the endorsement of an attempted coup.”

– ‘We will never concede’ –

As scenes of chaos spread, Trump took to Twitter to call on his supporters to be peaceful and Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser imposed a 6 pm curfew in the city.

But in his rally near the White House, Trump urged them to head to the Capitol.

Rambling angrily, the president warned “weak” Republicans not to certify Biden’s victory and put direct pressure on Vice President Mike Pence, who ceremonially presided over the session.

“We will never give up. We will never concede,” Trump told the cheering crowd, few wearing masks despite a spike in Covid cases.

“I hope Mike has the courage to do what he has to do,” Trump said, describing the US election as less honest than those of “Third World countries.”

As Trump was still speaking and Congress opened the session, Pence — dutifully loyal to Trump over four years and quiet since the election — said he would not intervene.

“The Constitution constrains me from claiming unilateral authority to determine which electoral votes should be counted and which should not,” Pence said in a statement.

Thousands of Trump supporters had headed to Washington at his urging in recent days, with downtown businesses boarding up in fear of violence.

“I can’t say I respect our election process anymore,” said Gail Shaw, 76, who drove down from New Jersey. “We will take our nation back.”

Biden won more than seven million votes more than Trump in the November 3 election and leads him 306-232 in the state-by-state Electoral College that determines elections.

Trump has repeatedly alleged without no evidence that there was vote-rigging but his team has not been able to prove a single case in court.

– New mandate for Democrats –

The session of Congress comes one day after voters went to the polls in Georgia and appear to have handed a pair of stunning victories to the Democratic Senate candidates over Republican incumbents.

A Democratic sweep would result in a 50-50 split in the Senate with Democrats holding the tie-breaking vote in Vice President Kamala Harris.

Biden is due to be sworn in on January 20 and control of the Senate would give his Democrats the levers of power in the executive branch and both chambers of Congress and allow him to push through his legislative agenda.

“After the past four years, after the election, and after today’s election certification proceedings on the Hill, it’s time to turn the page,” Biden said in a statement.

“The American people demand action and they want unity. I am more optimistic than I ever have been that we can deliver both,” he said.

In Georgia, Democratic candidate Raphael Warnock, the pastor at the Atlanta church where Martin Luther King once preached, was projected to defeat Republican Kelly Loeffler, a 50-year-old businesswoman appointed to the Senate in December 2019.

Warnock, 51, would be just the third African-American to win a Senate seat from the South.

In the other Georgia race, Democrat Jon Ossoff, a 33-year-old video producer, claimed victory on Wednesday over Republican David Perdue.

CNN guest legal analyst says Trump could be impeached, disqualified from running in 2024

Discussing the released phone call between Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, CNN election law analyst Rick Hasen said Trump has put himself “in potential legal jeopardy” and said “he could still be impeached.”

“He could be impeached after he leaves office in a way to disqualify him from running again in 2024, so he’s not out of the woods yet,” Rick Hasen said.

Romney says Trump to blame for Georgia defeat: ‘He has disgraced the office of presidency’

Republican senator Mitt Romney attacked Donald Trump on Wednesday, as Americans and the Republican party awoke to what appeared to be twin-Democrat victories in Georgia ’s senatorial runoff races.

Mr Romney, who has criticised the US president in the past, said Mr Trump had “disgraced” the presidency and that it was no surprise Republican voters were turned away by allegations that the 2020 presidential race was “rigged”.

"It turns out that telling the voters that the election is rigged is not a great way to turn out your voters,” Mr Romney was reported as saying, landing blame on the outgoing president.

“President Trump has disrespected the American voters, has dishonoured the election system and has disgraced the office of the presidency,” the Republican continued, promising to vote to confirm Joe Biden as president-elect in a joint of session on Congress on Wednesday.

"I'm confident we'll proceed as the Constitution demands and tell our supporters the truth, whether or not they want to hear it".

Biden's Legitimacy as President Could be in Doubt if Voter Fraud Probe Is Not Launched, Author Says

After the Electoral College voted in 14 December, the next stage in the multistep US election system is the Electoral Vote count in Congress that is set to take place on 6 January. But some Republicans are expected to contest Biden's win in swing states which is likely to turn what is usually a largely ceremonial event into a lengthy procedure.

Robert J Hutchinson, who writes on the intersection of politics and ideas, and is the author of many books of popular history, including, most recently, What Really Happened: The Death of Hitler(2020), says that voter fraud might not be "widespread", but it does occur and cannot be ignored by the new administration - otherwise it could undermine its legitimacy.

Sputnik: What do you expect will happen with the counting of the electoral vote on 6 January in Congress?

Robert J Hutchinson: Well, the counting of the electoral votes has been largely a ceremonial exercise. However, more than 100 Republicans in the House and nearly a dozen senators in the Senate have threatened to challenge the certification of some of the electoral votes, in states with disputed results, unless a special government commission is established to investigate claims of voting irregularities during the 2020 election. If at least one Representative and one Senator objects to the vote in writing, then each house of Congress is required by law to debate the merits of the objection for not more than two hours. If the objection fails, as appears almost certain it will, then the counting of the electoral vote proceeds as before. This is what I believe will happen.

Sputnik: Has this happened in the past?

Robert J Hutchinson: Yes, it has. In 2005, two Democrats claimed there were voting irregularities in Ohio and Congress, following the Constitution, met to debate the objections and then went on to certify the re-election of President George W Bush. In 2017, Democrats tried to object orally on the floor of Congress to the electoral vote for Donald Trump, but then-Vice President Joe Biden, functioning in his role as president of the Senate, ruled they were out of order because they had not made their objection in writing, as required by law.

Sputnik: What does this step mean for the transition of power?

Robert J Hutchinson: What the certification of the electoral college vote means for the transition of power is that the many procedural safeguards established in the US Constitution continue to work. The United States is a government of laws, not men, and it is the national commitment to obeying the law that allows for a peaceful transition of power.

Sputnik: What steps can we expect from Donald Trump and his Republican allies to further dispute the results of the elections because there are still Republican politicians loyal to President Trump?

Robert J Hutchinson: I expect that Trump will leave office in a bad mood when Congress certifies the electoral college vote - and his Republican allies will continue to press for a thorough investigation of all claims of voting irregularities and last-minute changes to election procedures, as is their right.

The Democrats and the controlled corporate media claim there is no evidence whatever of voter fraud in the United States, but this is simply false. It may or may not be “widespread” but voting fraud does occur. Last May, the former judge of elections in South Philadelphia pleaded guilty to stuffing ballot boxes for Democrat candidates in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Just a month ago, two Democrat operatives in Los Angeles were charged with submitting more than 8,000 fraudulent voter registration applications during the 2020 election as well as with falsifying names, addresses and signatures. In tight races in which the margin of victory comes down to five, four and even three digits, these isolated local incidents could have a national impact.

Sputnik: What happens if the Democrats do not agree to an investigation?

Robert J Hutchinson: If the Democrats do not agree to an investigation of the 2020 election, then Joe Biden will not be viewed as a legitimate president by nearly half the population. Polls show that fully 40 percent of all Americans, including 16 percent of Democrats, believe the election was rigged in some way. Doubts like that must be resolved or they will undermine the legitimacy of the government.

Sputnik: How will this bipartisan division further deepen and influence the decision-making process under the new administration?

Robert J Hutchinson: With the help of corrupt officials in the FBI and the Department of Justice, who have now been exposed, the Democrats orchestrated a three-year propaganda campaign against Trump that claimed he “colluded” with the Russian government in his election. As the whole world knows, there were endless Congressional investigations, the appointment of a special prosecutor and a full-blown impeachment trial – and finally it was proved that the whole exercise was a fraud, based on lies paid for by Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

As a result, the Democrats are almost certain to get the same treatment, only now they have even less political power because they lost so many Congressional and state legislature seats in the last election. Joe Biden’s son appears to have received millions of dollars in China and the Ukraine solely because his father was the vice-president of the United States. It hasn’t been proved yet how involved Joe Biden himself was, but I expect Congress will be locked in the same kind of gridlock as during the last four years as it investigates Biden’s business dealings.

Sputnik: What will the Republican Party look like in the post-Trump era?

Robert J Hutchinson: Donald Trump was and still is a gigantic “red pill” or wakeup call, for working people in the United States. Because he is not a politician but a businessman, Trump has been able to reveal to ordinary Americans just how much the political class in America – made up of both establishment Republicans and Democrats – is not acting in the interests of the American people but is mostly interested in enriching itself and its friends. This is what he calls the Swamp .

What is really going on in the US right now, as in many countries in Europe, is a massive political realignment. On the one side, there are so-called establishment politicians in various political parties, the ruling class, who stress things like increased immigration, free-trade, global warming and fringe issues such as transgender rights. On the other side there is a new movement of ordinary working people against the Big Tech oligarchs and the outsourcing of jobs and people.

In America, this populist movement has found an institutional home, at least for now, in the Republican Party – and to that degree, the Republican Party will become more of a national populist party going forward and less the party of big corporations. If it does not, it will die. The 70 million flag-waving Americans who voted for Donald Trump are not going to vote for “Democrat Lite” – which is all the establishment Republicans really are, just Democrats with better manners.

America’s working class instinctively knows its interests are more aligned with economic nationalists like Trump than they are with the tech billionaires who control the Democrat Party today. That’s why Trump is hugely popular with working people in America’s heartland, and why the super-rich, Big Tech and the entire corporate media establishment all support the Democrats.

Sputnik: What does this mean for the future of the US?

Robert J Hutchinson: America will be fine. I’m old enough to remember the riots in the Sixties and the far-left terror groups, like the Weather Underground and the Symbionese Liberation Army, that blew up federal buildings and murdered police officers. These would-be communist revolutionaries triggered a massive backlash among ordinary Americans. The country ended up voting for conservative politicians such as Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan, and we had 30 years of expanding prosperity and relative peace.

Some people claim that things have changed and American kids have been brainwashed by far-left college teachers and the corporate media and so will support socialists such as Bernie Sanders. But I don’t buy it. I know a lot of young people who are huge Trump supporters. Trump is punk rock for some of these kids.

Once in power, Joe Biden and the Democrats will try to push various lunatic policies on the entire country – such as banning "gendered" words such as "father" and "daughter" from government documents – but they will simply be ignored by most of the population.

The Republican Party, still led by Donald Trump and his kids, will probably continue to consolidate its popularity in the heartland, and will win again in the 2022 mid-term elections.

After the fiasco of the 2020 election, Americans will push for significant electoral reforms, such as banning mail-in and "early" voting and voting without government ID - practices that are all illegal in most developed nations and in Europe.

The cultural war that has divided Americans for a generation will continue for the foreseeable future, but Americans will become bored with politics and get on with their life – just as they did in the Eighties, Nineties and Noughties.

Tinubu is ill, Fani-Kayode says, reveals where the former governor is receiving treatment

Former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode says he has been informed Bola Ahmed Tinubu is ill and receiving treatment in France, adding credence to rumours the former Lagos State governor might have caught the coronavirus.

But the rumours had been debunked by the son of the National leader of All Progressive Congress (APC), Seyi Tinubu, who described as fake news reports that his dad had been flown to the capital of France, Paris for COVID-19 treatment.

The 35-year-old quoted his dad’s spokesman as saying Tinubu has done COVID-19 test 15 times – “each time he felt he had travelled and mingled with many people and could be vulnerable even though he always wore his face mask” – and “has been certified negative 15 times”.

According to Seyi, “he [Tinibu] is currently in London taking vacation,” the son said quoting his dad’s spokesman Tunde Rahman.

However, Fani-Kayode said it was unhelpful keeping things under wrap, saying, “it is not a crime to be ill & neither should it be a state secret”.

He said: “I have been informed that BAT is ill & is in a Paris hospital. It is not a crime to be ill & neither should it be a state secret. All mortals fall ill from time to time. I join others in praying for him& I wish him well. May God grant him a speedy recovery & a safe journey home.”

NEWSBREAKING: Police To Arraign Deeper Life School Officials Over Sexual Abuse

It is unclear for now how the police carried out their investigations, the extent of individuals’ culpability and what charges the police would file against the suspects.

According to a report by PREMIUM TIMES, the police in Akwa Ibom State are preparing to arraign some officials of the Deeper Life High School.

The school officials are to be arraigned over the alleged sexual abuse of an 11-year-old student of the school in Uyo.

Some officials of the school were said to have been detained after attending a meeting at the police headquarters, Uyo, summoned by the Commissioner of Police, Andrew Amiengheme.

David Okokon, lawyer to the parents of the boy said to have been sexually abused by two senior students of the Deeper Life High School, told PREMIUM TIMES, Wednesday morning, he would be in court today for the arraignment.

“They (the police) are arraigning those people found culpable, this morning,” said Mr Okokon who flew into Uyo from Abuja for the case.

It is unclear for now how the police carried out their investigations, the extent of individuals’ culpability and what charges the police would file against the suspects.

The police spokesperson in the state, Odiko MacDon confirmed to PREMIUM TIMES, Wednesday morning, the police were preparing to arraign “those found culpable”.

Mr MacDon, a superintendent of police, also confirmed the arrest and detention of some of the school officials.

“This morning, we are trying to tidy up (investigation), we are dotting our i’s and crossing our t’s,” Mr MacDon said. “If we are not through this morning, they will be arraigned tomorrow.”

Allegations

The victim’s mother, Deborah Archibong, said some senior students of the Deeper Life High School sexually abused her son when the school authorities switched him from his dormitory to another dormitory filled with senior students.

“They will remove his boxer and push their legs and hands into his anus,” Mrs Archibong said in a video which has gone viral on Facebook and Twitter.

“Look at a child I sent to school, he came back with a broken anus,” she added.

Mrs Archibong said her son was frequently starved and beaten up by the senior students.

The Deeper Life High School is owned by a Pentecostal church, The Deeper Christian Life Ministry.

The school trended on Twitter a few days ago over the case, with several Nigerians calling on William Kumuyi, a pastor and founder of The Deeper Christian Life Ministry, to ensure that the victim gets justice.

“We will like to state that Deeper Life High School stands on the core values of integrity and uprightness and will not attempt to cover up any immoral act under any guise,” Thelma Malaka, the school’s education secretary, who spoke through a video uploaded on Twitter, said of the sexual abuse allegation.

“We have unflinching confidence in our God to resolve the issue such that at the end the truth will ultimately prevail,” she said.

The school suspended the principal of the embattled Uyo campus and launched an investigation.

Former Head Of State, Gowon Takes Decision After DNA Test On His Son

Former military head of state, Yakubu Gowon, has confirmed the paternity of a 48-year-old man recently deported from the United States.

Gowon in a statement released on Wednesday noted that a DNA test had proven Musa Jack Ngodadi is his biological son.

Musa Gowon, who had been in jail in the U.S. for 22 years, was pardoned by President Barrack Obama in 2015, cutting short the 40-year prison term he was to serve for alleged drug related crime of which he was found guilty on November 18, 1992.

The son of the former head of state, returned to Nigeria on January 1, 2016, after the U.S. Immigration officials deported him.

He was the product of a romance in the 1960s between General Gowon, then a military head of state, and one Igbo damsel, Edith Ike-Okongu, who was said to have ended her love affairs with the ex-military ruler over the Nigerian Civil War and how it was being prosecuted under Gowon’s watch.

Edith was said to have protested the manner Nigerian troops had maimed and killed her fellow Igbos, under a government of a man she was in love with.

Conflicting reports say she left Nigeria with a pregnancy or with the child their romance had produced to settle in the U.S., while the then young bachelor, Gowon, got married to his present wife, Victoria.

Edith is said to have later returned to Nigeria after decades in the U.S., leaving behind Musa Gowon who allegedly got involved with some Colombian drug dealers resulting in his arrest and jailing in 1992.

Though he strongly denied being guilty of the crime as he insisted that he was framed up, Musa was sent to a correctional facility to serve a 40-year jail term.

The Igbo Mandate Congress, IMC, which made the return of Gowon Junior a big socio-political event, said Musa suffered the abandonment that later led him imprisonment for 22 years because his mother stood as a patriot of the Igbo nation by severing her relationship with Mr. Gowon in protest of the killing of her kin during the Civil War.

“Musa Gowon was borne out of a courtship gone awry between former Head of State Yakubu Gowon, then a Lieutenant Colonel and an Igbo Girl by name Edith Ike-Okongwu while he was still a bachelor,” said IMC, Director-General, Rev Obinna Akukwe.

“This relationship between Gowon and Edith Ike ended in the heat of the civil war. It is widely believed that the relationship broke off after Federal Troops bombed Aba General Hospital with NAF Napalm Bomb on July 14, 1968 killing more than 500 patients.

“Edith was said to have expressed disapproval with Gowon over the deliberate bombing of Biafran civilian soft targets and the romance was brought to an end. Prior to that, Edith Ike’s parents, though from Aro-Ndikelionwu in Orumba North Local Govt of Anambra State but lived in the north for over thirty years, relocated back to the East after the first wave of pogrom of 1966.”

Edith herself relocated to then West Germany on 30th June, 1967 after Gowon overruled her plans to relocate to either the US of UK.

“The relationship was said to have produced a handsome young man with full name Jack Musa Ngonadi Gowon in 1968. Due to Edith’s constant unease at the indiscriminate murder of civilians, the relationship got frosty and ended towards the end of 1968. In 1969 Gowon married Miss Victoria Zakari, a nurse by profession. Gowon reportedly denied paternity of Musa.”

Following years of doubts and speculation, a DNA test was recently conducted to ascertain the paternity of Musa Gowon who recently returned to the country.

The results of the tests were conclusive and they confirm his paternity.

NIN: How to download NIMC mobile app, print national identity card online

In another consolidated effort towards encouraging Nigerians to enrol for the National Identification Number (NIN), the National Identity Management Commison(NIMC) said it has launched a mobile app.

The technical assistant, information technology to the Ministry of Communication, Femi Adeluyi, made this known in a statement issued on the night of Thursday, December 31, 2020, in Abuja.

He said the development was part of the federal government’s policy to improve the process of obtaining NIN and linking it to Subscribers Identification Module (SIM), and also aligning with the national digital economy policy for a digital Nigeria.

How to get and use the app

Android users and iPhone users can download the mobile app on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store respectively. Then follow the steps.

1. After downloading and phone installing, scroll to the left and click on Skip and Begin

2. Put in your 11-digit NIN number and press Next, then later I Agree

3. After the second step, the mobile number you used to register for your NIN will pop up together with two questions;

a. I am still using dis Mobile Number

b. I am not using this number?

4. Click the one that is correct from the two questions and press Next

5. If you are using the same number, enter the user ID and the OTP sent to your phone through an SMS. Then press proceed .

6. If you do not use the number again, visit any NIMC office to update your mobile number.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the federal government lifted the suspension on replacement and activation of old Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card.

It was reported that the directive was given on Thursday, December 31, in a statement by the director of public affairs of the National Communication Commission (NCC) Ikechukwu Adinde.

Speaking on the development, Adinde disclosed that the action became necessary in line with the federal government’s desire to consolidate the achievement of the SIM card registration, This Day reports.
