We Lure Girls With Money And Fancy Things; Killed More Than 70 Girls ~ Two Ritualists

The Osun State police command has arrested two ritualists, from the arrest, some female body parts were found with them.

The Osun state police spokesman said: at about 9:30pm.. a distress call was made by A hotel management where they had lodged. The management said a girl screamed twice and after that, no noise was heard again from the room. According to them the scream was like a girl calling for help.

According to the management when the guys were about going, they were asked to be escorted back to the room to see if everything was fine and why the girl they came with wasn’t leaving with them.

The ritualist said everything was fine and the girl was resting in the room, that she was going to be out but the hotel management insisted, even though they tried to escape , the hotel management were smart enough to had locked the premises and pinned them down. That was when they were able to gain access in the room and saw a pool of blood with some body parts removed from the lifeless female body which they tried escaping with in a bag, the spokesman said.

That was when the distress call was made and the police force took emergency response, and they were arrested.

During further investigation by the police, it was found that the names of the apprehended criminals are Ayodeji Saheed and Tunde Obadimeji who confessed saying its not the first time they are committing such and that they have killed more than 70 girls. They specialized in getting female parts and one Abefe Sadiq pays them for each parts. #600:000:00 Six hundred thousand naira for one girl killed for him.

BREAKING: Court orders FG to pay Kanu N1bn

An Abia State High Court presided over by Hon. Justice Benson Anya in Umuahia, the state capital on Wednesday awarded N1bn damage in favour of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu against the Federal Government.

Kanu, through his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor had approached the court seeking N5bn damage against the Federal Government over the alleged invasion of his father’s house on September 10, 2017 by the military.

Hon. Justice Anya described the invasion of Kanu’s Afaraukwu residence as notorious and brazen.

He however struck out other reliefs sought by Kanu’s legal team, including his repatriation from Kenya and continued detention by the DSS.

The presiding judge also granted the relief sought by Kanu’s legal team, ordering the Federal Government to issue a public apology in three national dailies over the illegal invasion of Kanu’s Afaraukwu residence.

He also advised the Federal Government to adopt a political resolution in dealing with issues involving Kanu.

2023: Buhari speaks on his ‘favourite’ presidential candidate

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has expressed fear that his favourite presidential candidate may be “eliminated” if he is known now.

The President made the disclosure in an exclusive interview with Channels Television aired on Wednesday.

He said this after noting that he has no special interest in the 2023 election.

“It is not my problem,” he replied when asked about the next president election.

“I am not interested. I believe that whoever wins the poll should be sworn in as the next leader of Nigeria.

“All important things have been documented. No one should ask me to appear before the court to give evidence on any issue (public funds). All important things are already on record. I am sure about that,” he added.

When asked about his favourite presidential candidate, the president replied, “I won’t tell you my favourite for 2023, he may be eliminated if I mention. I better keep it secret.”

When asked about what comes to his mind when Peoples Democratic Party is mentioned, Buhari replied, “failure”.

Buhari also expressed his readiness to sign the Electoral Act Amendment Bill after the National Assembly makes necessary adjustments.

The president listed some of the expected changes to include the addition of consensus candidates and indirect primary options.

“All I said (is that) there should be options. We must not insist that it has to be direct; it should be consensus and indirect,” he added.

Asked if he would sign if the lawmakers effect the change in that direction, he affirmed, “Yes, I will!” I will sign.

“There should be options, you can’t dictate to people and say you are doing democracy. Give them other options so they can make a choice.”

When asked about his perception of Nigerian youths, Buhari said, “I wish when they go to school; when they work hard; when they earn their degree, they don’t do it thinking that government must give them jobs.

“You get educated because an educated person is certainly better than an uneducated person even in identifying personal problems. So, education is not meant just meant to hang on to the government to give you jobs and then what the colonialists indoctrinated in us to believe – have a car, have a house; start work by 8:00 am and close by 2 pm.”

Sylvester Oromoni’s Autopsy Results Shows he Wasn’t Murdered – Police Says

The Nigerian Police has stated that that autopsy tests were conducted on the corpse of Sylvester Oromoni of Dowen College who died after being assaulted by some colleagues in school shows that he wasn’t murdered.

According to him, Post Mortem was carried out in Delta and Lagos respectively and they both dismissed the erroneous claim that Sylvester was murdered.

He further reiterated that the suspects(housemates and students) were released on bail due to the fact that they were not linked to the murder.

”We are not at the peak yet. But we have done our investigation and have sent the report to the Directorate of Public Prosecution, DPP for legal advise on those arrested and DPP has replied. We have gone through the medical aspect which is the post mortem.

Post mortem was carried out in Delta and Lagos states. The first one done in Delta State was only witnessed by parents of the deceased.

But after I held a meeting with the parties concerned, at the instance and directive of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and my Inspector- General of Police, IGP Alkali Usman Baba, the second post mortem was carried out in Lagos.

The corpse was brought from Delta State to Lagos, where the Post mortem was carried out with all the parties involved , that is : parents of the deceased, parents of the students accused, the school authority and government. These were the four parties that witnessed the post mortem. And the result is out.

The report of the Post Mortem did not bring out the issue of murder on anybody.

Besides the result of the autopsy, the court order that we got has elapsed and we have released the house master and others on bail, because there was nothing that indicted them of murder.

It is only a murder case that is not bailable. Every other offences are bailable. They have been in custody for more than twenty days and that is infringing on their fundamental human rights. Since medical and legal reports have not indicted them so far, I think there is need to allow them have their freedom because bail is not the end of the case.

Another forensic test known as toxicology , will be carried out on the corpse.

By the way, the Toxicology test is to determine the concoction that was allegedly forced into the deceased mouth which peeled his lips.

Toxicology test was being done in Nigeria before, precisely at the Lagos State medical facility in Lagos Island. But after the EndASRS crisis, it is conducted outside the country.

Until that one is effectively done, we won’t know the final report. But with the interim report, nothing showed murder”

According to the Washington-based global financial institution, the country’s debt is also at risk of becoming unsustainable in the event of macro-fiscal shocks.

The bank said this in the November edition of its Nigeria Development Update.

It said, “Nigeria’s debt remains sustainable, albeit vulnerable and costly, especially due to large and growing financing from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

“While currently the debt stock of 27 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product is considered sustainable, any macro-fiscal shock can push debt to unsustainable levels.

“However, the debt to the GDP in Nigeria is rising quickly, and the total stock of debt in absolute value has almost doubled between 2016 and 2020, and without a policy change is expected to reach 40 per cent of the GDP by 2025.”

The bank further expressed concerns over the nation’s cost of debt servicing, which according to it, disrupts public investments and critical service delivery spending.

“The cost of debt servicing is also a concern as it is potentially crowding out public investment and critical service delivery spending. Interest costs have been above two per cent of the GDP since 2018, reaching 2.4 per cent of the GDP in 2019 and then falling to 2.2 per cent of the GDP in 2020.

“Cost of debt is high as Federal Government also resorts to overdraft (Ways and Means financing) from the CBN to meet in-year cash shortfalls. At end of 2020, the stock of the CBN Ways and Means financing was estimated at N13.1tn or 8.5 per cent of the GDP,” it stated.

It, however, said that the Federal Government was making efforts to negotiate terms with the CBN in order to convert the stock of overdraft financing into a long-term debt instrument, which would lower the cost of debt for the government and enhance fiscal sustainability over the medium long term.

Economists have raised concerns over the rising debt profile of the Federal Government.

The PUNCH had exclusively reported that the Federal Government was planning to push its public debt stock to N50.22tn by 2023, with domestic debt at N28.75tn and external debt at N21.47tn.

This was according to the projections in the National Development Plan 2021-2025.

The Debt Management Office had disclosed that Nigeria’s public debt was N38tn as of the end of the third quarter of 2021, with the total debt stock rising by N2.540tn in three months between July and September 2021.

The NDP shows that the regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), plans to accumulate about N12tn debt in two years from 2021 to 2023.

However, based on the plan, the government targets a reduction in total public debt by 2025.

A tabular illustration in the document shows the government targets N39.59tn debt stock for 2021, N46.63tn for 2022, N50.22tn for 2023, N50.53tn for 2024, and N45.96tn by 2025.

Analysts have agreed with the World Bank on the costly and vulnerable nature of Nigeria’s public debt.

The Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader of PwC, Mr Taiwo Oyedele, expressed his agreement with the World Bank’s assertion, highlighting the high cost of debt servicing.

He said, “I agree with the World Bank. Although the debt to GDP ratio is not too high, if you think about the debt service cost to revenue ratio, it is already over 70 per cent. That’s when you know it’s costly.

“Nigeria borrows at double-digit, and even when we borrow in dollars, the rates are very high and then you devalue the naira and the cost of servicing the debt in naira goes up because it is dollar-dominated debt.

“Put all of that together, and you can easily say to yourself that even though our debt to GDP ratio is very low, our cost of borrowing is unsustainable because it is very high, and therefore, make it very costly.”

He advised the government to have an integrated debt-revenue-expenditure strategy, which would address expenditure efficiency, terms of borrowing, and revenue optimisation.

He also advised the government to reconsider its priorities regarding its national budget.

A former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and former presidential candidate, Kingsley Moghalu, also criticised the increasing borrowing tendency of the government, urging the officials to re-consider other ways of generating revenue for the country.

“There are many ways through which we can improve Nigeria’s domestic revenue situation without selling the future of our country. As to the argument that Nigeria does not have a debt problem but a revenue problem, that is mere sophistry. If you’re spending 90kobo of every one naira you earn repaying debt, you are insolvent.

“You cannot say that we have a debt-to-GDP ratio that allows you to continue borrowing. No! That is an argument for sustainable economies. You cannot be comparing Nigeria with advanced economies. We are in an economy that is still very basic.

 “If you are not earning enough revenue, why are you borrowing? You are just compounding your problem. Why don’t you focus on where to get the revenue from instead of lazily ignoring that problem and just trying to survive with borrowing?

“If an individual was living a life that way, it would be a calamity. That is why Nigeria is in a calamitous situation today economically,” he said.

According to Moghalu, it is also not reasonable to borrow for infrastructural development as the government can expand the public-private partnership options for such development.

He said, “You cannot be borrowing for infrastructure. They should go and expand the PPP options for infrastructure.

“You don’t have to impoverish this country by borrowing. This is not sensible economic management.

“How sustainable economically are those infrastructures they claim to be building? Are they yielding enough money to pay back the debt?”

Malami And The List Of 400 Sponsors Of Terrorism In 2021 (A Brief Analysis)

Sometime in May, over 400 people were arrested after a nationwide crackdown on financial sponsors of a terrorist group (Boko Haram) in Nigeria.

After the operation was approved by the President in 2020, the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice Abubakar Malami disclosed that the Nigerian government embarked on a far-reaching and wider investigation into terrorism after the conviction of six (6) Nigerian Boko Haram finances in the United Arab Emirates.

He future disclosed that his office reviewed over a thousand case files and the suspects were profiled for prosecution.

As of then, Malami promised that no stone shall be left unturned as his office would aggressively pursue those who were involved in the terrorism of the federation. After this development, the Boko Haram terrorist group hoisted their flag in Niger state in the following month (April).

These flags were hoisted in two different local governments namely, Shiroro and Kaure. The 400 Boko haram sponsors who were arrested include operators of bureau de change and they were arrested in places like Kano, Abuja, Adamawa, Sokoto, Borno, Zamfara, and Kaduna. Reports show that as of May, the prosecutions had been scheduled to commence as quickly as possible.

The arrest of these 400 sponsors of the Boko Haram terrorist group was made jointly by the Defence Intelligence Agency in collaboration with the Department of State Services, Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, and the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Others on the list of the Boko Haram sponsors were businessmen who were gold miners and sellers. Some traders at the foreign exchange market were also picked up. The list of these 400 sponsors was never fully realized to the public as the operation bordered on national security and the federal government was being discreet and careful.

Bola Ige: Jubilation and victory of his killers

Distinguished readers,

It is now 20 years that Bola Ige, former minister of justice and attorney general of the federation was shot dead at his home in the south-western city of Ibadan.

For 21 years, activists including politicians who shared same interests with him when he was alive have continously demanded for the apprehension and prosecution of his killers.

Despite outcry, no one knows the true killers of Bola Ige who was murdered in service as attorney general and minister for justice and it remains a difficult puzzle to solve. Out of 20 years, the political party who was in power when he was coldly murdered, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ruled for 14 years and they could not produce his killers.

Majority of key players who participated in the struggle for justice, sponsored protests to demand for arrest and prosecution of his killers have also plotted their ways into power. They have held strategic positions in the country. They are now closer to the powers that can bring about the desired justice they had always wanted but the silence in them is cooler than that of death.

For 6 years, they have held the power they protested against but they have not considered finding the killers of Bola Ige. Every year, they come together to mourn the demise of the late cicero, Bola Ige. Every year, they turn his corpse inside grave and open the ‘sore wounds of death’ only for discussion and patronage. They had clamoured for investigations in the past.

They are now friends of people who have powers to investigate and make necessary arrest but they prefer silence because the unsolved puzzle of Bola Ige’s death has political benefits. They only remember the late Cicero when they mount podiums. They only remember the ‘husband of Atinuke’ when they want to play politics.

Again, who killed Bola Ige? Not only commoners but people who are closer to corridors of power still ask this question. Professor Wole Soyinka has raised the dust again after 6 years. He courageously asked the federal government under the leadership of Muhammadu Buhari who is a friend to mentees of Bola Ige to make known the details of their investigation about the assasination.

A former minister of power and steel, Olu Agunloye said the killer of Ex-Justice minister, Bola Ige was part of a big conspiracy network. When I listened to Agunloye’s speech, I discovered that he downplayed justice but condemned the killing. He understands that there is no justice anywhere but he is afraid of public persecution. Like Agunloye, many prominent Nigerians have silently concluded too. This matter is surrounded by a lot of cobwebs. In all, I see no justice in sight.

Again, we have resumed the call for investigation, apprehension and prosecution of true killers of Bola Ige. Both prominent Yoruba leaders and groups have spoken. All the pages of newspapers are filled with a lone question on the lips of every Nigerian that who killed Bola Ige? His friends, foes and possibly unknown killers who are probably in higher offices or walking freely in their respective majesties have also joined the annual cause. They mourn in public and mock in private. The call for investigation always dies with the season. In the next 48 hours, nobody would be interested again.

Nigeria and unresolved murder cases are siamese twins. A senior colleague, Komolafe said in one of his write ups that Nigeria has couched euphemistic names for reckless killings in the land; and it is as if the gods are angry. When I was browsing through the internet, I saw a list of prominent unresolved murder cases and I was shocked. Most families have resigned to fate. They have accepted destiny and handed over everything to God because they surely know that there is no justice anywhere.

Some of prominent Nigerians who were coldly murdered are: Dele Giwa (1986)! Alfred Rewane (1995)! Bagauda Kaltho (1996)! Kudirat Abiola (1996)! MKO Abiola (1998)! Barnabas Igwe and Abigail, his wife (2002)! Marshall Harry (2003)! Aminosari Dikibo (2004)! Hassan Olajokun (2005)! Ayodeji Daramola (2006)! Funsho Williams (2006)! Dipo Dina (2010)! Olaitan Oyerinde (2012)! Funke Olakunri (2019)!

If killers of these people could not be apprehended or prosecuted, it does not only promote crime or build a culture of criminality but tells ordinary citizens like me that we must not get killed. Like past years, we have come together again to ask the most important question of the moment, who killed Bola Ige?

We will ask next year too. Till then, do not get yourself killed because there won’t be justice for you. Be wise!

WE MUST PRAY FOR ILE-IFE

This year, 2021 is a challenging one for the people of Ile-Ife. I do not know what is occupying the minds of natives and residents of the town. The month of December will always be remembered by the good people of Ile-Ife. As an ancient town of traditions, one is forced to ask if they did not forsee the troubles of this month or the forebears especially the spirits in control of the town are at war with the natives and residents of the town.

What exactly did Ooni of Ife hear from our forebears or spirits of the land during his 7 days of seclusion? This month is no doubt a challenging one for the ancient town and we must remember the people and town in our prayers.

It is excruciating to note that each time, Ile-Ife appeared on social media in this month of December, the ancient town is either a subject of ‘controversy’ or ‘ridicule’.

From the alleged murder of Timothy Adegoke, a student of Obafemi Awolowo to stormy revelations about one of her prominent sons, Iyiola Omisore made by his former boss, Bisi Akande in his book titled ‘My Participations’ to new discussions about the assasination of former secretary to government of federation, Bola Ige in which a prominent son was alleged to the dumping of his Imperial Majesty, Oba Ogunwusi by his wife, Queen Silekunola Naomi, it has truly been a long tale of ‘controversy and ridicule’.

High blood pressure: Three herbs to 'reduce and prevent' it – 'antioxidant' properties

Often described as a “silent killer” because it rarely causes symptoms. As many as five million adults in the UK have undiagnosed high blood pressure, so will not know that they are at risk, according to the British Heart Foundation. Moreover, the UK government says that it is projected to affect more than 1.5 billion people around the world by 2025. Fortunately, there are often effective steps that people can take to lower high blood pressure.

The prevalence of high blood pressure for adults in England in 2015 was 31 percent among men and 26 percent among women, with little change over the last few years, according to Public Health England (PHE).

This is considered to place a considerable strain on the NHS, and can cause several negative complications.

Fortunately, there are several ways to keep a healthy level, including adopting certain diets.

Kai Ali, pharmaceutical scientist and head of formulation at Super Botanic, says that incorporating herbs into diet can help reduce and prevent high blood pressure.

Kai says that curcumin has anti-inflammatory effects and “is an extraordinarily strong antioxidant”.

“There have been many meta studies to show how curcumin can help reduce high blood pressure, by reducing inflammation of blood vessels, hinder clotting of the blood, and lowering cholesterol levels,” the pharmacist adds.

Indeed, a systematic review published in Pub.Med.gov looks at a total of 11 studies comprising 734 participants.

It says results of the meta-analysis suggest that consuming curcumin may improve blood pressure when administered in long durations. However, more studies are needed to confirm these results.

Kai Ali adds that moringa, “often known as “The Miracle Tree” or the “The Tree of Life” as it is one of the most nutrient dense plants on the planet” is a great natural source of potassium.

“Potassium helps lower sodium levels which is an indicator of high blood pressure. Potassium and sodium work together to control your blood pressure,” Kai states.

Lastly, the pharmacist says that saffron “has antioxidant properties which helps maintain healthy arteries and blood vessels”.

Buhari gets 14-day ultimatum to sack Army Chief, NYSC Boss

A group known as Concerned Nigerian Women (CNW) has given President Muhammadu Buhari a 14-day ultimatum to sack the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Farouk Yahaya and the NYSC Director General, Brigadier Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim over what it called the recent harassment of a female soldier who accepted a proposal from a male NYSC member.

The women rights group led by Bimbola Olatenwaju, berated the NYSC DG for what it termed “an apparent show of disdain for women” which the group said, led to the irrational manner with which the DG of NYSC talked down on women in the press conference he addressed regarding the issue.

The group further called the attention of Nigerians to the fact that the provision that said a female soldier must serve for three years before marriage, the basis upon which the female soldier is being detained, has not been breached as the soldier merely accepted a proposal for marriage which can take even up to ten years before being formally contracted.

The group also wondered if the same provision applied to male officers, asserting that the group will go to any length to ensure that the female soldier is not being harassed and discriminated against because of her gender as such will be a glaring violation of her rights guaranteed in Section 42 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria as amended, which frowns at the discrimination of any Nigerian on the grounds of gender.

Following the apparent breaches of the female officer’s fundamental rights, the group threatened to lead a powerful protest to the Presidential Villa, United States Embassy, British High Commission, Ministry of Women Affairs, Human Right Commission office and other key institutions if the duo is not removed for their hatred towards women within the next seven days.

Garba Shehu tests positive for COVID-19, Lai Mohammed denies contracting virus

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has denied being infected with COVID-19.

Mohammed, who is a also member of the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19, said he attended the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, the extraordinary meeting of FEC on Thursday and the inauguration of the new Minister of State for Works and Housing, Muazu Sambo, on Friday which was covered by the media.

He, therefore, wondered how he could be said to be in isolation and still be allowed to attend such important events at the Presidential Villa.

Online medium, Premium Times, had reported that COVID-19 was ravaging the Presidential Villa. The newspaper said Mohammed as well as several other Villa officials including the Permanent Secretary, State House, Tijani Umar; the President’s Aide-de-camp, Yusuf Dodo; his chief security officer, Aliyu Musa, and his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, had contracted the virus.

Responding, however, Mohammed said, “I read the story and we still have a great battle on our hands on fake news and mischievous reporting. I was in the public view on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I was at FEC on Wednesday. I coordinated press briefing on Thursday for the extraordinary EFC meeting. And the minister of power and I addressed media.

“On Friday, I witnessed the swearing-in for minister of state for power after which we had a security meeting. How can someone who has had such high level engagements for three days consecutively be ill?

“It is nothing but fake news. I am hale and hearty. Not only that, I have taken the two doses of the vaccine. I have also taken the Pfizer booster. I am a member of PSC and I am hale and hearty and I am performing at optimum level.”

However, Buhari’s media aide, Shehu, confirmed that indeed he had tested positive for COVID-19 and he was in self-isolation.

Shehu said he could not confirm if other Presidency officials had tested positive for the virus or not.

When contacted by our correspondent, he said, “What is true is that I know that I’m self-isolating and taking my medication, but I know of no other case.”

“Your Excellencies, Nigeria will continue to actively support the democratization processes in our region West Africa and the African continent at large. But regrettably, our democratic gains of the past decades are under threats of unconstitutional takeover of power.

“This unwholesome trend, sometimes in reaction to unilateral amendments of constitutions by some leaders, must not be tolerated by the international community. Nigeria fully supports the efforts by ECOWAS to address this growing challenge and appreciates the support of both the African Union and the United Nations,” he added.

The President, who said Nigeria had continued to face security challenges which posed a threat to democracy, called “on global partners to support our efforts in tackling insurgency and terrorism.”

“I am proud to state that Nigeria has had over two decades of uninterrupted democratic governance and has unequivocally  remained committed to upholding the core values and principles of democracy.

“Since assuming office in 2015, we have been able to introduce mechanisms to ensure free, fair and credible elections. We have strengthened our key anti-corruption agencies in collaboration with international partners and have undertaken several anti-corruption measures and initiatives.”

In a statement issued Friday by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, Buhari thanked Biden, government and people of the United States for hosting the Summit.

He said the summit was taking place at a time when democratic institutions around the world were facing several challenges.

“This event will help promote a positive agenda for democratic renewal by focusing on some of the major challenges faced by democracies today. It is hoped that through our collective action, we can safeguard democratic values and principles,” he said.

The President said the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which had made it impossible to convene the meeting face to face, had taken a heavy toll on economies, health and democratic processes around the world.

Nigerians to pay 7.5% VAT on Facebook ads from January 1

Social media giant, Facebook has announced that Nigerians will pay 7.5 percent value-added tax (VAT) on all ad placements from January 1, 2022.

 

The charge will also apply to those buying ads for businesses or personal purposes. Those exempted from VAT would be able to recover the fund if they provided their tax ID.

 

The new 7.5 percent VAT charge will also apply to Instagram ads. The statement read; 

 

“Due to implementation of a value-added tax (VAT) in Nigeria, Facebook is required to charge VAT on the sale of ads to advertisers, regardless of whether you’re buying ads for business or personal purposes.

“All advertisers with a business country of Nigeria will be charged an additional 7.5% VAT on advertising services purchased beginning 1 January 2022.

“If you’re registered for VAT and provide your VAT ID, your VAT ID will show up on your ads receipts.

“In the event that you’re entitled to recover the VAT, this may help you recover any VAT you paid to the Nigerian tax authorities if you are a VAT registered business in Nigeria.”

How IPOB’s ESN Murdered, Beheaded Two Policemen In S/East – FG

The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra’s Eastern Security Network (IPOB’s ESN) has been accused of abducting and murdering two policemen in South Eastern State.

The Federal Government through the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, November 29.

According to the Minister, the IPOB militant wing, ESN carried out the murder, adding that the culprits behind the “killings, who videotaped their heinous act and circulated such will be apprehended and brought to justice.”

Daily Independent reports that a video circulating on social media shows a number of young men, communicating in the Igbo language, surrounded two decapitated heads and mocked the deceased while repeatedly mentioning that one looked like “Fulani” from the look of his nose.

Reacting to the viral video, Alhaji Mohammed described the abduction of three policemen and the killing of two of them, “in the most horrific, barbaric and cannibalistic manner, as an unacceptable attack against the state.”

The minister listed the victims as ASP Francis Idoko (AP No. 154945); Inspector Emmanuel Akubo (AP No. 222336) and Inspector Rufai Adamu (AP. No. 285009).

“They were abducted by members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), acting on the instructions of their leader, Chinonso Okafor, aka TEMPLE, on 27 November 2021.

”Inspectors Akubo and Adamu were killed, their decapitated bodies videotaped and circulated widely. The leader of the ESN team that killed the two officers is one ‘GENTLE’.

“Okafor, the most influential commander of ESN in charge of Imo and the Anambra States, as well as ‘Gentle’ and all those who perpetrated the abhorrent act, will be made to face swift and sure justice,” he said.

Mohammed stressed that the targeting and killing of security agents, under any guise, is a direct attack on Nigeria and will not be accepted.
