The gunmen attacked Ehime Mbano Local Government Area Divisional Police headquarters in Imo State and set it on fire.
Sadly, the attack on the Divisional Police Headquaters, came less than 24 hours after the Owerri Correctional Centre and the Imo state Police Command headquarters was attacked by the unknown gunmen.
Additionally, worthy of note is that Tuesday' s attack came few hours after the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, the just sacked Inspector- General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, and other Government functionaries visited the state to inspect the level of damage on the attacked security facilities.
According to Punchng, the gunmen who were said to have operated without any challenge from any policemen, during the operation freed all the suspects in detention before setting the Police Divisional headquarters ablaze.
Recall that within the last two months, the unknown gunmen had razed Abo Mbaise, Obowo, Ihitte/ Uboma and Isiala Mbano Divisional Police headquarters, killing no fewer than three policemen in the process.
As a result, diverse reactions have continued to trail the sad development, as many called on the federal government to rise up and deal with the menance before it gets out of hand.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday afternoon sacked former IGP, Mohammed Adamu and appointed a Deputy Inspector- General of Police, Usman Baba, as the acting Inspector- General of Police with immediate effect
Consequently, how do you think the federal government can resolve this escalating insecurity crisis rocking the country?
