While Buhari Is In the UK For Medical Check- up, See What U. S. Are Saying About His Administration

It would be recalled that the President of Nigeria is currently in the United Kingdom for his Medical Check- up, which he does regularly.

While Buhari is abroad, his Vice President, V. P Osinbajo, has been actively involved in managing the country' s affairs until he returns, despite reports that the President will rule the country from the United Kingdom.

According to reports reaching the Punch news, the US has criticized President Buhari' s administration, claiming that while corruption increased under his watch, Nigeria is better under the leadership of the previous governments he once criticized.

The US also said that President Buhari' s administration has refused to take steps to stop widespread looting by enforcing existing laws that criminalize theft in public service. This gave governors and other top politicians to indulge in any form of corruption without facing the law. They only use the laws against government officials they want to bring down.

According to the statement released by the U. S government reads,

" The findings of corruption watchdog Transparency International were corroborated by the US report, which has repeatedly found that both Mr. Buhari and his officials have been more corrupt than previous governments they criticized before coming to power. "

" The government, on the other hand, pushed back against the claims of graft, with officials such as information minister Lai Mohammed and presidential spokesman Garba Shehu dismissing Transparency International and other NGOs' as one- sided and lacking in parameters. "
