Arsenal have reportedly offered the Brazilian international playmaker (Chelsea midfielder) Willian a three-year contract which he consider a great deal for the next transfer window.
Mikel Arteta’s move are believed to be one of the club interested target for the next exchange window. The club has been offered to complete the Brazil international’s signature, with his Chelsea contract expiring this summer.
Willian has plied his contract for the West Londoners since 2013, when he joined from Anzhi Makhachkala with a fee of £30million according to the report.
The 31-year-old has made upwards of 300 appearances for Chelsea in which he has scored 59 goals and provided 59 assists.
However, Willian’s days at Chelsea seem to be numbered, the player recently telling Fox Sports show Expediente Futbol that contract talks with the Blues had expired and he is moving on to be welcome by another top England club.
The £120,000-a-week ace wants a contract of two to three years and Chelsea haven’t offered him such a deal, as a result of this, Arsenal have reportedly stepped in to offer a three year old contract with the forward.
Willian is believed to have been “free” with offers as the Premier League prepares to put several proposals to a vote on Monday on a number of topics which could help facilitate the restart of the 2019-20 season, including a mini-window in the last week of June when clubs are permitted to approach out-of-contract players to sign for next season.
The Willian saga involving Arsenal and Spurs is showing no signs of slowing down, with different sources reporting different things some are tipping him for the Emirates Stadium, others for rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
The Brazilian is an incredibly talented player, fast, agile, hard-working and technically gifted, with a track record of pulling off exciting feints and tricks to the point that pundits were questioning whether he, and not Eden Hazard, was Chelsea’s most skilful player of the year.
To get such a talent on a free transfer would be quite a coup for Arsenal and, even though he’s 31, he looks to have plenty of top-level years ahead of him.
