A suspected COVID-19 patient, a citizen of Cotonou in Benin Republic has died inside a car that was conveying him and his friend at the opposite of GTBank, along Okelewo, Kuto, Abeokuta the state capital of Ogun State.
According to a video trending online where a man, simply identified as Alex was seen holding the body of the COVID-19 patient while travelling to Owode, Idiroko Yewa Area of Ogun State before a driver conveying them from Ijebu Ode/Sagamu to Yewa during lockdown reportedly dumped the corpse and his friend, Alex, immediately the driver leant the COVID-19 patient was no more breathing.
Although, It has not be confirmed whether or not the man died of COVID-19 disease but, the man identified as Alex, who was seen with the corpse in the video online, noted that, the man travelled to Cotonou, in Benin Republic and just came back to Ijebu Ode about two weeks ago before the sickness occurred.
Adding that, he was taking the COVID-19 patient to his family members in Owode, Idiroko Yewa area of Ogun State for treatment before the incident happened on the road. Information however revealed that, the Ogun State Commissioner for Environment has decontaminated the area where the dead COVID-19 suspect was picked up also urged the residents to be free as Environmental officers of the ministry had decontaminated the area for people safety.
